Book Talks
TashaDavis

Each quarter, we have to do two book talks, where we get up in front of the whole class and give almost a review of the book that we read. We give the title, author's name, short summary, why you did or didn't like the book, and a rating from one to ten. One being the worst book in the whole world and ten being one of the best books you have ever read, along with an explanation as to why you gave it that rating. One of the book talks that I had to do was called The Pirate and the Princess. The author is Mio Chizuru. It was about a female pirate named Yuri and a princess running for her life named Noelle and Yuri saves Noelle from her captors. I gave it a 10 because it never got slow and always kept you in suspense until the right moment.
I improved my Communication skills toward an audience because I feel more confident when I get up in front of crowds. I might also be better reciting poems in a contest now. Communication is to tell someone what is on your mind without feeling stupid for saying anything at all. Communication is to start a story in a conversation and know in your heart that they will stay there by your side until you feel confident that you can tell it without making an error. Communication is the ability to share your ideas with another person.
Because of the fact that I had to write a descriptive summary of the book while mixing in the factual information, I had to create an image in another person’s head. It's like saying that I saw a dog. That could be anything. If I say it was white, that gives more information. If I say it was white with brown spots and a black spot around its left eye, that gives “dog” a whole new meaning. It would be an even better description if you told what size the dog was. Be descriptive with your words. Give a verbal image. Creativity is creating something interesting and informative that yourself and others can enjoy.
My third and fourth book talks were much more fluent then my first two because I was used to the routine.
