9th Grade Projects
This year, I became a better at Inquiry. Inquiry is something I tend to do a lot of but I feel that this year I had a kind of growth spurt. No matter where I am, I am always thinking of ways I could do things better or more efficiently. I think that the project that expresses this best is my Chinese Family Tree Project because even with the ridiculously short amount of time to do it, I asked myself, “How can I do this better?” When I was in the lower grades, I always did everything from scratch because I didn’t know how to use what I have learned before, and to use them again. Now, I have become more flexible which allows for me to improve my learning and my grades. If I learn to use this outside of school, I can learn so much more about new things because I will be able to use my previous learning experiences as stepping stones. This includes programming languages. I have found that if I learn one bit about a certain language, I can find something similar in another language. Then all I have to do is learn how to use the new one. Starting from scratch is good sometimes when needing to come up with a brand new idea, but sometimes an old idea will work better than coming up with that new one.
