The thing that persistence means to me is that you work until you think that you have made the best possible piece of work you can make.  Persistence is creating multiple drafts until you have made a piece that you really like.

 

The reason this quality is emphasized at DRSS is because DRSS focuses more on quality of work rather than quantity.  If you do one task well instead of several tasks sloppily, you are going to move ahead in life because your work looks better than some other guy's.

 

I used Persistence in my Castle Blueprint when we had to draw a castle that included a list of features that a real castle would have had.  I drew several drafts until it looked perfect.  I had to ask myself, “Is this what a real castle would have looked like?”

 

I realized that I had to use Persistence and keep making my drafts over and over again so that I could make the best castle drawing I ever had drawn in my whole life.
