Chinese Poster

In Chinese class we had just finished learning how to tell someone how old I am or ask how old they are in Chinese. We had also learned how to introduce ourselves or ask who someone is and how to count in Chinese.
During the Chinese poster project, we had to create a poster that introduced ourselves in Chinese and told how old we are. This was because the poster was about what we had already learned. We also gave out how to write and say the numerals. The pronunciation of a word in Chinese is written in pinyin. Pinyin is the official photonic system for transcribing Chinese characters into the Latin alphabet.
Everyone had to have a picture of themselves on the poster but no one in my group of four had a hard/digital photo of themselves. I drew pictures of everyone and the pictures actually looked really good.
I have defiantly grown in drawing and I have the pictures on the poster to prove it. I think I have also improved my Chinese writing as well.
My biggest challenge was trying to draw my peers. A lot of people draw mustaches on their classmates but I wanted these to look good. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to make sure that they looked perfect.
I just kept trying and in the end I got the results I wanted. You could recognize at least one of the people I drew. That was my greatest achievement in this project.
I think that the biggest thing I have learned is surprisingly not about drawing. You need to plan every step of the way as fast as you can. As soon as the project starts, you should start planning what you will be doing with the rest of the group.
Someday I will be able to be a better leader and give everyone a chance to start sharing their ideas when there is a big project. Their input is important and really does make an impact.
I used persistence in this project. Even when time got short, we made time to finish the project because it was important to us. While drawing pictures, I didn’t just take the first picture I made and slap it on the board. I waited until I was ok with how it worked. I kept trying even though it was frustrating. I could get it done but I wasn’t sure I could get it in before the deadline. Persistence in this instance is to never give up even if you believe that the light at the end of the tunnel is only the oncoming train.
